Badly behaved bears Yogi (Dan Aykroyd) and Boo Boo (Justin Timberlake) enjoy nothing better than pinching picnic baskets off unfortunate visitors to Jellystone Park. But when greedy and ambitious Mayor Brown (Andrew Daly) decides to shut down their home to fill his own coffers, the two must team up with their arch enemies - Park Rangers Smith (Tom Cavanagh) and Jones (T.J. Miller). Accompanied by intrepid nature documentarian Rachel (Anna Faris), the gang set out to save Jellystone Park by holding a festival, but the wacky antics of Yogi and Boo Boo soon threaten to derail their plans.
This part-live-action version of the classic Hanna-Barbera cartoon sees the beloved bears rendered in CGI and voiced by the unlikely duo of Aykroyd and Timberlake. Both give serviceable renditions of the hapless honey-munchers and there's no end of daft capers to keep youngsters engaged.
While the initial frisson of nostalgia will most likely fade for adults as Yogi's escapades begin to grate, there's no denying this is a decent stab at bringing a perennial favourite to the big screen; even if the live-action cast, and Faris particularly, are sorely underused.
