Beneath the town of Cheesebridge, a community of trolls live in small boxes, only sneaking out at night to pinch rubbish they can turn into nifty new inventions. Among them lives an orphan named Eggs (Hempstead-Wright) who they lovingly count as one of their own. But still, the misunderstood trolls have a terrible reputation among humans.
When Eggs hears that evil exterminator Archibald Snatcher (Kingsley) has a plan to wipe out his family, he ventures above ground to save them, with a little help from well-bred youngster Winnie.
Alongside Aardman, Laika has proved to be one of the leading producers of stop-motion animation in recent years and follows up Coraline and ParaNorman with this charming family adventure. Pleasing visuals are brought to life by a distinguished voice cast including Kingsley, Nick Frost and Richard Ayoade
