This 2006 animated comedy adventure has quite an appeal.
After an unfortunate incident in a supermarket, forest ranger Beth (voiced by Debra Messing) realises that the little bear cub she raised has the potential to cause big trouble and decides to return Boog to his natural habitat. But the peaceful forest where Boog and his mischievous buddy Elliot (Ashton Kutcher) are left will turn into a frenzied shooting range when the hunting season opens in three days. Will they make it back to civilisation before the bullets start to fly?
The list of stars supplying the voices for these animated charmers is impressive, but there's just as much talent on the production team. Director Roger Allers was nominated for an Academy Award for his short film The Little Matchgirl, and his colleague Jill Culton wrote the story for Monsters, Inc.
A cute comedy, it has enough witty one-liners to entertain older viewers and a hefty helping of toilet humour for the more easily amused.
