Drama based on a true story about an African-American serviceman who overcomes prejudice to become the US navy's first black master diver. The man is from a poor southern family and joins the navy in order to better himself, but faces prejudice from his fellow sailors and a tyrannical diving instructor. However, through personal courage and determination, he strives to win over his colleagues and realise his dream.
