Starring Josh Hartnett, Morgan Freeman, Ben Kingsley and Bruce Willis (pictured), this 2006 black comedy thriller is quite a rollercoaster ride. Deftly directed by Paul McGuigan, it's a bit convoluted, but builds neatly with some smart script touches.

Slevin (Hartnett) picks the wrong apartment on the wrong day. Visiting a pal, there's a serious case of mistaken identity as thugs drag him away. It turns out that his friend owes money to mobsters, and soon Slevin is up in front of The Boss (Freeman). He's made an offer he can't refuse: kill the gay son of The Rabbi (Kingsley) and "his" debt is cleared. Of course, it doesn't take long before Slevin is grabbed by The Rabbi's thugs and he hears a counter-offer. And, rather oddly, both The Boss and The Rabbi seem to employing the same mysterious hitman (Willis)...

Definitely worth catching, especially for the superb one-liner from the attractive coroner - played by Lucy Liu - who lives next door to Slevin. "I was thinking that if you're still alive when I get back from work tonight... maybe we could go out to dinner or something?"
