This enjoyable nerdy slapstick comedy, released in 2007, was dreamt up by Saturday Night Live stars Andy Samberg and Akiva Schaffer.
All his life, Rod Kimble (Samberg, pictured) has been a loser. A schlub who's never achieved anything, who hangs around with his moped and his nerdy pals, he's pushed around by his ex-stuntman stepdad who beats him in every contest. And now stepdad Frank (Ian McShane) is dying. He's short of $50,000 for a heart transplant and that's all the incentive Rod needs.
It will be a stunt to rival those of Evel Knievel: jumping 15 school buses... on a moped. "You're wrong, Frank," says Rod. "I'm not a kid, I'm a man. I am gonna get you better. And then I'm gonna beat you to death!"
This is slapstick from the same overconfident idiot school of comedy as Will Ferrell and Jackass. Worth a look.
