A group of governmental scientists, including Linda Foster (Elisabeth Shue) & Sebastian Caine (Kevin Bacon) seeks to find a way to make a person invisible. This they have no problems with. Their problem is bringing that person back to the visual spectrum so they can be seen again.
After they have successfully taken a gorilla to and from reality Sebastian decides it's time to test human subjects and volunteers his own body for research.
They later find out that they are unable to bring him back to the visual world. Soon after Sebastian starts to go insane due to being invisible and decides the only way he can live his now invisible life is to kill off all who know about his invisibility.
