After his mother is killed in a car accident, seven year old Albert Franklin is sent to live with her half-sister Harriet Franklin, a businesswoman who has no time for the boy but reluctantly takes him on. To help him through his bereavement and new life, Albert invents an invisible friend, Bogus.
