Miranda is horrified to find out from Aidan that Steve has testicular cancer, and berates Steve for being so nonchalant about his health, causing him to break down and cry. Meanwhile, Carrie prepares for a trip to Aidan's country cabin with a true city girl's trepidation. When she arrives, she immediately laments agreeing to go. She realises that relationships are inevitably a series of compromises and asks: When does the art of compromise become compromising? But Samantha agrees to keep her company, and provides entertainment for Carrie when she spots a brawny young farmer.
