Carter deals with a young patient's needs as his graduation draws near... and passes. He is later offered a place on the most prestigious team at the hospital for the next year by Morgenstern, but decides to stay on Peter's 'lesser' team. Carol decides to finish her relationship with Shep after he shows severe hostility towards her and decides to quit ER all together. Mark receives upsetting news from Jenn as Jeannie informs Peter of her husband's medical condition and Peter's risk. Meanwhile, Susan turns down the Chief Residency and Doug has suspicions over Karen tampering with a prescription he gave her.
