Mark tries to relieve the suffering of a woman with breast cancer, impressing Morgenstern so much that he is offered a job as an attending physician for the next year, which doesn't go down too well with his wife. Benton clashes with Haleh over his recent bad attitude towards the nurses, a flaw that should be corrected as Jeannie starts looking after his mother full-time. Carter gets outdone by Deb's presentation and considers specializing in emergency medicine. Doug continues befriending Jake in an effort to win over his mum who is dubious over his reputation. Meanwhile Carol reacts badly when her brand new crash carts are stolen by the cardiology department minutes after recieving them so takes a few others with her to get them back.
