Lesser Spotted Ulster: Muff FairSeries 1, episode 0Joe Mahon returns with another quirky travel series in which he explores the beautiful - but often overlooked - nooks and crannies of the Ulster countryside, and exchanges banter with the local citizenry. In this episode Joe heads to the Muff Fair in County Cavan, the oldest of its type in Ireland. It's a great day out despite some very wet and muddy conditions, as he learns how a horse sale is transacted, watches a traditional tinsmith at work outside his genuine gypsy caravan, tastes some of the famous Muff Fair stew, and attends a dance in a cow shed. He even finds himself babysitting a donkey. Click to see when Lesser Spotted Ulster, Muff Fair is coming up on UK TV |
