Lesser Spotted Ulster: Monea

Joe Mahon returns with another quirky travel series in which he explores the beautiful - but often overlooked - nooks and crannies of the Ulster countryside and exchanges banter with the local citizenry. This week sees Joe in Monea in County Fermanagh where he visits Monea Castle, a beautifully preserved example of an early Scottish planter castle in Ireland. He also meets a local stonemason who takes a lot of his inspiration from his surroundings, and pays a visit to St Molaise's church, discovering the rich architectural history of the area.
