Lesser Spotted Ulster: Ards

Quirky travel series exploring the beautiful nooks and crannies of the Ulster countryside. This week's episode sees Joe Mahon in the Ards Peninsula of County Donegal. Joe visits the Ards Friary and Retreat Centre, which used to be the estate of the Stewart family, and discovers how much of the estate owes its existence to the demands of a very high maintenance lady. He also finds out how to maintain a castle lawn and hunts for sand eels as well as some 16th century remnants on Sheephaven Bay.
