Semi-finals
From January 30th, the Toray Pan Pacific Open will return to Tokyo's Metropolitan Gymnasium's indoor carpet courts. Tokyo has become one of the favourite venues for women's tennis, also hosting the Japan Open Tennis Championships (held in October). Its launch in 1984 made it the first official women's professional tennis tournament in Asia and it has now become the largest female tennis tournament in Asia. It is classified as a Tier 1 tournament and has a total prize fund of $1,300,000.
