Athletics: Great City Games

Jonathan Edwards is on the Newcastle quayside as England battle Australia in a new competition which takes place in a street setting on the banks of the Tyne. This athletics Ashes features 11 events, including the 100m and 200m, run on a specially constructed track on the quayside. Also included is the pole vault, where Olympic and world champion Steve Hooker will be showcasing his skills. The format also includes the Great North Mile, the traditional prelude to tomorrow's Great North Run
