St Patrick's Festival

With the patience of a saint, St. Patrick's Festival enthusiasts have been waiting for the annual parade. Postponed from 17th March, the festival parade is now taking place in Dublin on 20th May and for those who are not able to attend the actual parade there is still hope! Tara TV will be showing it live on 20th May from 14:00 - 15:30.

This year's festival is organised under the theme of fusion and it will be an extravaganza of colourful and creative pageants, marching bands, pomp, ceremony and celebration! The festival embodies both old and new traditions of parades in Ireland and there will be everything from marching bands to street theatre, from 'A Greek Odyssey', a synthesis of Greek mythology with industrial imagery, to 'Bui Bolg' and their Cabaret pageant that combines 1930's sophistication with 'Come Dancing Kitsch'.

Tara TV is also showing the spectacular "SkyFest" on 19th May from 23:00 - 23:30. The SkyFest is an extraordinary firework display that will be accompanied by an exclusive soundtrack, mixed by top Irish DJ Johnny Moy.
