Antiques Roadshow: San Antonio, Texas - Hour Two

Series 30, episode 0

In San Antonio, Texas, host Mark L Walberg and appraiser Beth Szecila visit the Witte Museum's collection of horn furniture, a Bavarian craft popularised in 19th-century America by Texas maker Wenzel Friederich, whose patrons included Queen Victoria and Kaiser Wilhelm I. At the Henry B Gonzalez Convention Center, appraisers corral treasures from all over the map, including a controversial silver statue of St Catherine that could be a valuable medieval masterpiece or just a 17th-century copy.
