Most people know that viruses can cause disease, like the flu. But not all do. There is a group of viruses, the bacteriophages (literally, "bacteria eaters"), which only attack bacteria- including those which cause disease in animals and man. Bacterial infections are increasingly hard to treat due to antibiotic resistance and so "Phage Therapy" holds promise as a future treatment.
