Part one of two. Natural history cinematographer Colin Stafford-Johnson begins a journey along Ireland's Atlantic coast by exploring the ancient ruins and wildlife of the Skellig Rocks in the south west, where early Christian monks built a monastery 1,500 years ago. He then ventures to the deserted Blasket Islands to witness vast numbers of seals coming ashore to fight, mate and moult during winter. Moving inland, Colin heads to the nation's highest mountain range in search of the last surviving herd of red deer, before setting off back to the coast on the trail of humpback whales en route to Clew Bay
