First of five programmes in which wildlife cameraman John Aitchison combines location recordings with personal narratives which highlight the uniqueness of human experience, the beauty of nature and the connections which unite society and nature. Despite a raging storm, John struggles across the rocky shore of Brownsman Island off the coast of Northumberland to film grey seals giving birth at night.
