The Sound of Music - Live!

Adaptation of Rodgers and Hammerstein's musical, originally broadcast live on US TV from Grumman Studios in Bethpage, New York, in December 2013. In 1930s Austria, novice nun Maria leaves her convent to become the governess to the seven children of widowed naval captain Georg von Trapp. As she brings joy to a family previously beset by grief and ruled by strict discipline, she also falls in love with her employer. But before long, the looming threat of the Second World War jeopardises their happy household. Country singer Carrie Underwood takes the lead role, alongside Stephen Moyer (True Blood), Christian Borle (Smash) and Audra McDonald (Private Practice).
