The Early Music Show

Hannah French presents highlights of a concert given at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation in Lisbon by Hesperion XXI, featuring consort music by composers such as Dowland, Purcell, Bach, Ferrabosco and Lawes. According to director Jordi Savall, the focus is on the most beautiful pieces from the second part of the Renaissance to the Baroque period, played by a formation of violas da gamba.
