Classical Live is a Music programme. Classical LiveLinton Stephens presents an afternoon of music-making, with a focus on London, long recognised as one of the world's leading centres for classical music. The programme opens with Haydn's sophisticated and deeply expressive work from his first London visit, his Symphony No. 98. There is also chamber music from two of London's leading concert venues. From Wigmore Hall, pianist Piotr Anderszewski plays Brahms and from LSO St Luke's Antoine Tamestit is joined by violinist James Ehnes and cellist Andreas Brantelid for music by Mozart. The London Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Sit Antonio Pappano, performs Thea Musgrave's Phoenix Rising, and the programme also includes highlights from the London International Festival of Early Music.
