The programme begins with a live recital from Wigmore Hall by tenor Santiago Sánchez and pianist Ian Tindale, performing songs by composers including Clara and Robert Schumann. Mark Forrest then introduces the Leonore Piano Trio performing Chopin's early G minor trio at Perth Concert Hall, and begins a week featuring music that draws on the ancient expression of plainsong as its premise, inspired by the opening theme of Radio 3's new history of music series Key Changes.
