Celebrity genealogy series. Kevin Whately, famous for playing working-class characters, has, in fact, a surprisingly affluent family history. Kevin begins in Newcastle, investigating the careers of his grandmother Doris, a singer, and her father, the self-made 'fishing king' of the Northeast. Further investigations uncover an 18th-century forebear who was a turkey trader, and reveal that his ancestors, the Thomson brothers, were amongst the richest and most powerful men of the 17th century.
