Digging for Britain: Anglo Saxon Gold and rebellious nuns

Alice Roberts joins archaeologists to explore Central England's past. She explores a dig beneath the runways of RAF Alconbury which has uncovered a rural Roman site filled with mysteriously placed objects. In Winchester she visits a new housing development where an Anglo-Saxon cemetery has been discovered and a a gold pendant has been found in a grave. Later, she tours a Medieval nunnery near Windsor where archaeologists are attempting to learn about the women who lived within the convent
