Hurrying home along the highways of West Virginia, Chris Flynn finds his way blocked by an accident. In a hurry, he cuts into the back roads, only to crash into five teenagers in a car, whose tyres have been blown by barbed wire laid across the road. With no transport left, the six decide to hike back to the highway for help. But they're stalked by a grotesque group of close - very close - family members who make their living recycling wrecked cars. And dining on their ex-owners.
