When the plans of Dr Arliss Loveless (Kenneth Branagh) attempts to assassinate the President but, unfortunately for him, they are revealed, by two government agents who pair up to face him.
These two agents are Artemus Gordon (Kevin Kline) and Jim West (Will Smith). With Artemis' penchant for inventing and his ability to be master of disguise combines with Jim's sweet-tongued Civil War veteran attitude make them a pair tp be reckoned with.
When an eminent scientist is found beheaded by a mysterious device, Artemus sets out to find the culprit. But who could it be? The only person evil enough to be such a device could be none other than Dr Loveless.
Dr Loveless has kidnapped some of America's most revered scientific genius's to give his computer power a boost. And now he has chosen his next victim - the president himself.
Now its up to our hapless heroes to save the Presidents life.
