Life is tough during the Depression, especially for orphans. When young Sonora's aunt threatens to send her to an institution, she decides to run away. On her travels she comes across a circus, and gets a job as a stable girl. She dreams of being the brave female rider who dives, with her horse, into water from a high platform. As Sonora grows up she becomes a beautiful woman, and her boss's son falls in love with her. Then tragedy strikes, but she finds the strength to triumph against the odds, in this inspiring film.
