Satirical take on the life of Ben, a besieged Hollywood producer desperately trying to juggle the demands of two ex-wives and a precocious daughter while putting the finishing touches to his latest film. The 'visionary' production is panned by his studio boss leading Ben into difficult negotiations with the drug-addled director as he seeks changes to the ending. Meanwhile, treachery is afoot as one of his friends, a screenwriter, makes a play for one of Ben's ex-wives even as they try to seal another deal.
