The delightful Audrey Tautou again works with director Jeunet, with whom she made the highly acclaimed Amelie, in this beautifully crafted romantic epic. Set against the horrifying background of the French trenches during World War One, it's the touching story of Mathilde, a girl trying to find her lost fiancé Manech. Wrongly accused of cowardice (injuring himself in order to be sent home) he and several other soldiers have been banished to "no man's land" and certain death. But Mathilde is convinced that he is still alive, and sets out on a long hunt to try to find him.
