Mark Wahlberg joins the Transformers family for an action-packed new instalment.
In a Chicago still counting the cost of a battle between the noble Autobots and the villainous Decepticons, inventor Cade Yeagar (Mark Wahlberg) is rummaging for scrap metal when he finds a broken old truck that he suspects might be more than it appears. As it turns out, Cade is proved right when the hunk of junk transforms into Autobot Optimus Prime (voiced by Peter Cullen).
However, with Optimus being tracked by an alien bounty hunter, as well as a shady CIA agent (Kelsey Grammer) out to eradicate Transformers, it’s not long before Cade and his daughter Tessa (Nicola Peltz) are mixed up in a fight that poses a dire threat to all of humankind.
There’s plenty of spectacular action in this latest addition to the head-spinningly successful Transformers franchise, which currently sits at tenth in the all-time box office charts.
With the departure of original star Shia LaBeouf, Bay beefs up the cast with the addition of new hero Wahlberg as well as a brace of antagonists in Stanley Tucci and Kelsey Grammer.
While there’s also a romantic subplot between Tessa and racing driver Shane (played by Jack Reynor), Age of Extinction is mostly about maximum metalcrunching mayhem
