Newspaper publisher Lord Rawnsley puts up a £10,000 prize for the winner of a flight from London to Paris and soon his daughter Patricia, her would-be husband Richard, his rival for her hand and a motley collection of aviators are gathered, ready for the race to begin. Among them, of course, is the requisite villain Sir Percy Ware-Armitage, aided by his put-upon servant Courtney. Although the gags are flagged, the cast are all game for the fun and respect should go to cinematographer Christopher Challis and the anonymous stuntmen who, for some of the scenes, had to fly planes that were only slightly more robust than the original pre-WWI craft they were modelled on.
