This 1973 cult British horror film stars Edward Woodward as Neil Howie, a righteous police sergeant who arrives on a remote Scottish island to investigate the mysterious disappearance of a 12-year-old girl, Rowan Morrison. Strangely, the locals appear to have never heard of the girl and after some investigation, the sergeant believes they are lying.
Desperate to get to the bottom of the mystery, he discovers that the island owner Lord Summerisle (Christopher Lee) is a practising pagan and that the locals perform ancient rituals to ensure a good harvest. Fearing the girl is going to be the next sacrifice, Howie is running out of time to find and save her.
