A remake of Fred Cavayé's 2008 film Pour Elle (Anything For Her). A young family is torn apart when wife and mother Lara Brennan (Banks) is convicted of murdering her boss after an argument at work. Despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary, husband John (Russell Crowe) is convinced she's innocent and becomes all-consumed with clearing her name.
But when the couple's final appeal is rejected some three years later and all legal channels are exhausted, John vows to free his wife by other means. Obsessed with the idea of breaking her out of prison, he explores numerous avenues to secure her freedom, but only succeeds in arousing the suspicions of the police. Working on little more than a hunch, a Pittsburgh police detective named Quinn (Jason Beghe) decides to pre-empt a possible escape attempt by transferring Lara to another facility at the earliest possible chance, closing John's window of opportunity to just three days.
With time fast running out, John launches an audacious scheme to liberate his wife, and take her and their young son to safety on some foreign shore. But with the odds stacked overwhelmingly against him, it could prove to be the final move of a desperate man.
