This 2006 romantic fantasy drama reunited Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves for the first time since 1994's big hit Speed. Don't expect anything like the zillion-mile-an-hour pace of Speed though; things here are conducted in a much more leisurely fashion. A film that critics weren't over-keen on, Bullock and Reeves come out of it reasonably well, making a good screen couple. However, due to the plot you rarely see them on screen together.
Lonely doctor Kate Forster (Bullock), and lonely architect Alex Wyler (Reeves), have both lived in the same unusual lake house. By a twist of fate, they start to write to each other - but he's writing from 2004, and she's writing from 2006. They communicate by putting their letters in a magic mailbox, and over time they start to fall in love with each other. Can they and will they ever meet?
