Setting a new standard for CGI-adventure, The Incredibles hit a high note for Pixar that left all other efforts in their super-dust. The non-stop gags reference everything from James Bond to 2001: A Space Odyssey, and the animators' attention to detail is simply astounding. With the story and production equally strong, The Incredibles (released in 2004), garnered commercial and critical success almost unheard of for an animated film.

When standout superhero Mr Incredible (voiced by Craig T. Nelson) saved a would-be suicide against his wishes, the subsequent lawsuit ruined the super-biz for everyone. Relocated and given new identities by the government, the Incredible clan, including mom Elastigirl (voiced by Holly Hunter), speedy son Dash and sometimes-invisible daughter Violet, struggle to fit into suburban life. However, when supervillain Syndrome (voiced by Jason Lee) strikes, the world once again is in need of superheroes. But can Mr Incredible still squeeze into the Spandex?

Highly recommended.
