This entertaining sci-fi comedy horror, from director Joon-ho Bong, manages to combine political satire, slapstick, family drama and all-out frights into a creature feature with brains as well as bite.
Three generations of the Park family make a living by running a snack bar on the banks of Seoul's Han River. However, when a mutant monster, spawned from toxic waste dumped by the American military, snatches youngest daughter Hyun-Seo, the family bands together to rescue her from the creature's lair before it's too late.
With a government conspiracy blocking their every move, the Parks must overcome their bickering ways to conduct a dangerous hunt through the city's sewer system.
