Oscar winning adaptation of John Le Carré's thrilling murder mystery follows a man who discovers a deadly secret when he tries to find out who killed the woman he loves.
Justin Quale (Ralph Fiennes), a low-level British diplomat, has been given a new assignment in Kenya. Whilst serving his country, his wife, Tessa (Rachel Weisz) who is the region's most dedicated activist is found brutally murdered.
All evidence points to a crime of passion with her travelling companion, a local doctor, who has fled the scene. But Justin, spurned on by his devotion to his wife and her dedication, finds that there is a much larger and more sinister plot at hand.
Before long Justin begins digging into areas where he's not especially welcome, and starts a crash course on the pharmaceutical industry whose crimes Tessa was on the verge of uncovering.
