A couple travel from Chicago to spend Christmas with the wife's extended family in a small town in Ireland. Jack wants children and is happy interacting with various nephews and nieces. Caroline doesn't want a family and is not so comfortable socialising. As pressures grow, the holiday eventually tests their patience - and their marriage.
