Based on the best-selling book by John Boyne, this harrowing and emotional film tells the story of an unlikely friendship between Bruno (Asa Butterfield), the son of a Nazi commandant, and Shmuel (Zac Mattoon O'Brien), a Jewish boy held captive in a concentration camp.
Though the two boys are separated physically by a barbed-wire fence, their friendship grows and their lives become inescapably intertwined. With the children being told they should be enemies however, it takes great strength for the boys' friendship to survive until the end.
