When radio love expert Dr Emma Lloyd (Uma Thurman, pictured) dishes out some dodgy advice that leads to laid-back fireman Patrick Sullivan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan, pictured) getting ditched by his fiancée, he hatches a plan to get even. Altering official records so that it seems that he and the stuck-up shrink are married, Patrick throws Emma's life into chaos, damaging her own relationship with stuffy boyfriend Richard Bratton (Colin Firth) and giving her a taste of her own medicine.
In tracking down her new "husband", Emma attempts to uncover what has gone on, but as Patrick tries to cover up his part in the incident, the two find themselves drawn together.
In his first major film role, Grey's Anatomy heart-throb Dean Morgan demonstrates the easy charisma that has already won him a die-hard fan base in this frothy rom-com that makes good use of its fine cast. All in all, it's a likable mix of romance and fun.
