A bit of a letdown after the first two movies, the third Terminator film, released in 2003, is big on budget (at least $170m) and even bigger on bang, crash and wallop. Reassuringly Arnold Schwarzenegger reprises his iconic role as the cyborg from the future, but once you've got over the fact that he's back, and the deadly terminator killing machine he needs to eliminate is a woman, then it's pretty much a re-hash of what we've had twice before - expensive effects, plenty of chases and lots of mayhem.
With evil artificial intelligence network Skynet on its way to world domination, the rise of the machines seems inevitable. The only man who can oppose them is John Connor (Nick Stahl), who is set to become the leader of the human resistance against the machines. Skynet sends its newest, deadliest terminator, the T-X (Kristanna Loken), to eliminate him - but the humans send back their own cyborg, the T-101 (Schwarzenegger), to protect their leader.
