Tell Me Something (1999)

Directed by
Yoon-Hyun Chang

Yoon-Hyun Chang's Korean thriller sees a serial killer terrorising Seoul. Their trademark is to dismember the body, but leave a part of their previous victim mixed in with the remains. Disgraced detective Cho is assigned the case and finds the clues leading him to museum curator Su Yeon, whose beauty blinds men to her mysterious path. Fans of Se7en and Basic Instinct may not find the plot totally original but the stylised violence and an unfamiliar Seoul more than compensate.
