Katie Holmes plays a poor but ambitious student, studying to gain a scholarship. But her history teacher Mrs Tingle continually gives her bad grades. Her friends, trying to help, steal the exam paper, only for Mrs Tingle to discover the theft. Going to her house to plead her innocence, Holmes and her friends accidentally kidnap the teacher. Now all they have to do is work out how to blackmail her into silence in Kevin Williamson's deliciously dark comedy.
