Swallows and Amazons (1974)

Directed by
Claude Whatham

Set in 1929 the Swallow family go on holiday to the Lake District.

There, the four young siblings, John (Simon West), Titty (Sophie Neville), Roger (Stephen Grendon) and Susan (Suzanna Hamilton) meet, and develop a friendly rivalry, with two boisterous girls, Nancy (Kit Seymour) and Peggy (Leslie Bennett) aka, the Amazons.

Against the delightful landscape the six children become increasingly involved in their childish adventures, all the while trying to escape the ever watchful and stern eyes of their gaurdians, Mrs Walker (Virginia McKenna) and Uncle Jim (Ronald Fraser)
