Psychoanalytic drama. When Dr. Edwardes, the new director of a mental institution, begins displaying strange behaviour, Dr Peterson begins to suspect that he is not really who he says he is. When it is uncovered that he is in fact John Ballantine, a patient suffering from amnesia, Dr. Peterson become set on helping him, whilst the real Dr. Edwardes remains missing.
