Young LA filmmaker Peter (Christopher Denham) and his girlfriend Lorna (Nicole Vicius) are on the verge of putting together the documentary that they hope will launch their careers. Going deep undercover, they're determined to expose the cult of ethereal Maggie (Brit Marling) as a sham.
After attending a strange 'preparation' ritual, the pair appear to be accepted into the group. They discover that Maggie believes she is from an apocalyptic future, and has come back to choose a select few to survive with her. Peter and Lorna remain sceptical, but as they fall deeper into Maggie's mysterious world, their motives become increasingly uncertain.
