This fantasy action movie - released in 1998 and aimed at older kids - has plenty of filmic references and knowning nods to classic war movies to keep adults entertained. Alan (Gregory Smith) is the son of a toy-store owner and is the first to try out some new, sophisticated action figures. What he doesn't know is that the figures have built-in military micro chips, enabling them to talk and move.
The toy manufacturers had underestimated the power given to these figures, which soon begin thinking for themselves and acting in a real combat. With the help of his neighbour, Christy (young Kirsten Dunst), Alan must protect his home and his family from the evil commandos.
